HB3355

HB3355 proposes changes to Illinois' Election Code, allowing election authorities to mail vote-by-mail ballots to all qualified voters instead of.

HB3355 amends the Illinois Election Code to allow election authorities to mail vote-by-mail ballots to all qualified voters, bypassing the usual process of sending notices and applications for permanent vote-by-mail status. This change requires election authorities to maintain lists of voters who will receive vote-by-mail ballots and post these lists publicly. The bill also mandates that individuals who have never voted before must provide proof of identity and have it verified by the election authority before receiving a vote-by-mail ballot.
