HB3351

RENTAL AGE PROTECTION ACT

Introduced·2/7/25
Introduced Text

Rental Age Protection Act prohibits age discrimination in rental agreements for vehicles and lodging.

The Rental Age Protection Act bans automobile rental companies from refusing to rent vehicles to individuals aged 18 or older if insurance is available for that age group. It also prohibits these companies from charging extra insurance costs based solely on age. Similarly, lodging establishments are barred from denying rooms to individuals aged 18 or older or charging them higher rates based on age. Violations of these provisions are considered unlawful practices under the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.
