Illinois HB3345 extends the Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Act until January 1, 2028.

Illinois HB3345 amends the Regulatory Sunset Act to extend the repeal date of the Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Act from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2028. The bill also modifies the licensing process for hearing instrument professionals. It limits applicants to taking the written licensing examination no more than four times within any consecutive 12-month period. Additionally, it allows a trainee license to be renewed once for an additional six months, whereas previously it was non-renewable. The changes to the Regulatory Sunset Act are effective immediately.
