Establishes the Calumet City Community Medical District and its Commission.
The Calumet City Community Medical District Act creates the Calumet City Community Medical District, coterminous with Calumet City, to attract and retain academic centers, health care facilities, and research facilities. The Calumet City Community Medical District Commission is established to manage the District, with powers to acquire property, construct facilities, and enter into contracts. The Commission consists of nine appointed and three ex officio commissioners. It can accept grants, loans, and appropriations for District purposes and provide relocation assistance.
