Introduced·2/7/25
Introduced Text

Illinois HB3336 establishes an Election Income Tax Rebate Fund to pay rebates to individual taxpayers filing Illinois income tax returns.

Illinois HB3336 creates the Election Income Tax Rebate Fund, a special fund in the State treasury. Beginning in 2027, the Department of Revenue will pay an annual rebate to each individual taxpayer who files an Illinois income tax return using the moneys in the Fund. The State Board of Elections will collect fees from candidates for elected office, which will be deposited into the Fund. The amount of a rebate will not be included in a taxpayer's income or resources for means-tested benefit programs unless required by federal law.
