Illinois HB3326 amends the Regional Transportation Authority Act to require all METRA trains to carry naloxone or another opioid antagonist in easily accessible spaces throughout the train cars. The medication may only be administered by a train conductor or other individual trained in its use. The bill also amends the Good Samaritan Act to exempt train conductors or other trained individuals from civil liability for dispensing or administering the opioid antagonist in good faith, except in cases of willful or wanton misconduct. The changes take effect January 1, 2027.
