Introduced Text

Illinois HB3262 amends the Children's Advocacy Center Act to ensure forensic interviews of child abuse or neglect cases are confidential and exempt.

Illinois HB3262 amends the Children's Advocacy Center Act to clarify that consent is not required for forensic interviews to be electronically recorded. It also states that failure to record does not render a forensic interview inadmissible. Importantly, it specifies that a person charged with a criminal offense involving abuse or neglect of a child does not have standing to object to the failure to comply with the electronic recording requirement.
