Illinois HB3184 amends eminent domain laws to require disclosure of ownership and beneficiary interests in real property transactions.

Illinois HB3184 modifies the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act to mandate disclosure of ownership and beneficiary interests in real property transactions. Before entering into any contract involving real property, the State or local government must disclose the identity of every owner and beneficiary with any interest in the property. The bill also allows for the use of alternative notification methods to the United States Postal Service for sending notices to property owners.
