Illinois HB3178 amends the Digital Voice and Likeness Protection Act to deem unenforceable certain agreements involving digital replicas of individuals' voices or likenesses. This applies to new performances fixed on or after January 1, 2026, if the agreement does not include a reasonably specific description of the intended uses of the digital replica. The failure to include such a description does not render the agreement unenforceable if the uses are consistent with the contract terms and the fundamental character of the original recording.
