HB3166

Illinois HB3166 creates an intercity bus program to enhance travel options across the state.

Illinois HB3166 mandates the Department of Transportation to establish an intercity bus program. This program aims to provide quality, affordable travel options for residents, allowing them to reach any part of the state without driving. The program will add missing frequencies to existing passenger rail routes, begin frequent departures throughout the day, and include smaller towns in the network. Bus schedules will be coordinated with intercity and commuter trains, enabling passengers to purchase a single ticket for combined journeys.
