HB3071 amends the Illinois Election Code to prohibit foreign-influenced business entities from making political contributions or donations. A foreign-influenced business entity is defined as one where a foreign investor holds a significant ownership interest. The bill sets forth certification requirements for business entities to ensure compliance. It also provides for enforcement actions by the Attorney General or State's Attorney against entities that violate these provisions. The Act takes effect July 1, 2025.
