Illinois HB3066, known as the Distressed Farmers Act, creates a grant program administered by the Department of Agriculture. The program provides up to $5,000,000 for apprenticeships for individuals working in a direct or support capacity for a distressed farmer, up to $5,000,000 for distressed farmers needing wells, and up to $10,000,000 for distressed farmers needing financial assistance with expenses such as repairing tractors, trailers, and other vehicles, purchasing, repairing, or constructing greenhouses and other covers for agricultural products, purchasing tractors with tillers and.
