The Commission to End Gun Violence in Disproportionately Impacted Areas Act establishes a commission to study, analyze data, and develop policy proposals addressing the root causes of gun violence in areas with high rates of arrest, conviction, and incarceration related to gun violence. These areas must meet at least one of the following criteria: a poverty rate of at least 20%, 75% or more of children participating in the federal free lunch program, at least 20% of households receiving assistance under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or an average unemployment rate more than.
