Illinois HB3051 amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act to require the Department of Human Services to adopt rules increasing compensation for rural providers of developmental disabilities services. These rules will account for extended travel time and mileage, as well as additional staff or resources needed. The bill also mandates the creation of a grant program to support the use of assistive technologies and innovative services, such as telehealth and remote patient monitoring, to improve access to care for individuals in rural areas.
