HB3036

Illinois HB3036 lowers the preregistration age for voting from 16 to 15.

HB3036 amends the Election Code to allow individuals who are 15 years old or older to preregister to vote, with their registration held until they turn 18. This change also deems those aged 15 and older competent to execute and attest to voter registration forms. The bill references an instruction permit as a valid form of identification for these purposes.
