Illinois HB2987 mandates warehouse operators to prepare tornado safety plans and shelters.

Illinois HB2987, known as the Warehouse Tornado Preparedness Act, requires all warehouse operators within the state to prepare a tornado safety plan for each warehouse. For existing warehouses, this must be done within 120 days of the Act's effective date, and for new warehouses, within seven days of becoming operational. Each plan must include a floor plan with emergency exits and shelter areas, descriptions of actions during and after a tornado, and a list of emergency equipment.
