Introduced·2/5/25
Introduced Text

Health Care Transparency Act mandates disclosure of health care services restricted for nonmedical reasons.

The Health Care Transparency Act requires the Illinois Department of Public Health to identify and disclose health care services that may be denied for nonmedical reasons. Covered entities, including hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers, must provide patients with a disclosure form detailing available services, restrictions, and referrals. The Department must maintain a public list of covered entities and their disclosure forms. The Act also mandates an education program on the impact of denied care and prohibits using certain Acts as a defense against its provisions.
