HB2892 amends the Probate Act of 1975 to allow a petitioner, cross-petitioner, or respondent to request a one-time substitution of a guardian ad litem. This substitution must be granted if the motion is made before the guardian ad litem files an appearance or at the first court appearance, whichever is later. The guardian ad litem must be qualified by training or experience to work with the type of disability alleged in the petition.
