Illinois HB2874 amends the Illinois Controlled Substances Act to prohibit marketing, advertising, or labeling of products containing ephedrine, a salt of ephedrine, an optical isomer of ephedrine, or a salt of an optical isomer of ephedrine for stimulation, mental alertness, weight loss, appetite control, or energy. The Department of Illinois may consider packaging, labeling, distribution, advertising, promotion, verbal representations, and misuse duration when determining compliance. Violations are classified as misdemeanors, with subsequent violations as felonies.
