Illinois HB2817 mandates safety policies for digital library resources offered to K-12 students.

HB2817, also known as the Database Resources for Students Act, requires that digital or online library resources offered to students in grades K-12 by school districts, State agencies, public libraries, or public universities and community colleges must have safety policies and technology protection measures. These measures must prohibit and prevent users from sending, receiving, viewing, or downloading child pornography, obscene materials, or materials that depict child sexual exploitation.
