HB2763 amends the Election Code to create an automatic voter registration program. Applications for driver's licenses or state identification cards, if they meet federal REAL ID Act requirements, will also serve as applications to register to vote in Illinois or to apply for permanent vote by mail ballot status. The Office of the Secretary of State will inform applicants of their eligibility and the penalties for false voter registration.
