HB2719 modifies the Illinois Election Code to change the number of registered voters per election precinct. In counties with fewer than 3,000,000 inhabitants, each precinct must contain approximately 1,200 registered voters. In counties with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants, each precinct must contain approximately 1,800 registered voters. The County Board must adjust precinct boundaries after each decennial census and following congressional and legislative redistricting. The bill also allows for precincts to be adjusted based on voter registration increases due to new construction.
