Illinois HB2716 amends the Election Code to allow election authorities to combine townships into one election precinct if they are contiguous and meet specific conditions. These conditions include having no more than 1,800 registered voters combined, no more than 500 voters in a precinct within either township, and a majority vote from both townships' boards of trustees. The bill also allows for the reassignment of voters to adjacent precincts if a precinct has fewer than 50 voters.
