Illinois HB2708 amends laws to allow military personnel to access funds for travel expenses related to domestic violence proceedings.

HB2708 amends the State Finance Act to allow military personnel who were victims of domestic violence to qualify for and access funds from the Domestic Violence Shelter and Service Fund. The bill also amends the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986 to allow military personnel to receive grants to cover travel expenses for domestic violence proceedings. The Department of Human Services is directed to make these grants. The bill further amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 to allow military personnel to qualify for and access funds from the Domestic Violence Shelter and Service Fund.
