Illinois HB2706 amends the Illinois TRUST Act to strengthen protections against civil immigration enforcement by state and local law enforcement. The bill prohibits law enforcement agencies from retaining information about an individual's citizenship or immigration status, providing immigration agents access to individuals in custody, using agency facilities or equipment for immigration enforcement, or transferring individuals into immigration custody.
