Illinois HB2689 amends the Property Tax Code to require tax bills to include the dollar amount of tax due that is used to fund a Veterans Assistance Commission under Section 5-2006 of the Counties Code. The bill also mandates that tax bills provide information on tax increment financing districts, the total tax rate, and the amount by which the total tax differs from the taxpayer's last prior tax bill. Additionally, the bill requires that tax bills include a list of exemptions available to taxpayers and contact information for the chief county assessment officer.
