Illinois HB2625 modifies the Code of Criminal Procedure to allow child victims or those with intellectual or developmental disabilities to testify outside the courtroom in cases involving criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse, aggravated battery, or aggravated domestic battery. The child or disabled person does not need to be present in court if the judge determines that their testimony would cause severe emotional distress. The testimony is shown in court via closed circuit television.
