HB2518 amends the Freedom of Information Act and the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. It exempts from disclosure information and documentary materials obtained by the Attorney General or a State's Attorney under the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. This exemption applies to all information and materials obtained during an investigation under this Act. The Attorney General may use this information for law enforcement purposes, including interviewing witnesses and consultants, in complaints, pleadings, and court proceedings.
