Illinois HB2506 allows veterans with a 50% or greater service-connected disability to receive military series registration plates without a fee.

Illinois HB2506 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to ensure that any additional fee collected for the issuance and renewal of military series registration plates does not count towards the authorized fee waiver. This bill provides that veterans who hold proof of a 50% or greater service-connected disability from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs can receive military series registration plates without paying a fee for one motor vehicle.
