Illinois HB2494 establishes a Task Force on Loneliness to study and address the epidemic of loneliness and related health concerns.

Illinois HB2494 creates the Task Force on Loneliness within the Department of Public Health. The Task Force aims to study key factors contributing to loneliness, identify age groups particularly susceptible, and explore potential solutions. The Task Force includes members from the General Assembly, state agencies, and the public, appointed by the Governor and legislative leaders. The Task Force is required to submit a final report to the General Assembly by January 1, 2027, after which the Task Force will be dissolved and the Act repealed.
