Illinois HB2482 amends the Chicago Police Article of the Illinois Pension Code to presume disability for policemen applying for disability benefits who have been denied reinstatement by their employer due to a physical or mental incapacity. The bill also mandates that no policeman meeting the requirements for a disability benefit shall be denied unless their employer reinstates them or offers a limited-duty position. Effective immediately upon becoming law, the bill exempts the state from reimbursing for its implementation.
