Illinois HB2453 amends the Gender Violence Act to include non-consensual removal of a sexually protective device as gender-related violence. This includes instances where the device is intentionally removed without consent or unintentionally removed but the defendant continues to engage in sexual contact without obtaining consent. The act defines "sexually protective device" to include internal or external condoms, spermicide, diaphragm, cervical cap, contraceptive sponge, dental dam, or any other physical barrier device intended to prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted infection.
