The bill amends the PFAS Reduction Act to mandate that sellers of firefighting personal protective equipment (PPE) containing perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) chemicals must provide written notice to purchasers at the time of sale. The notice must state that the PPE contains PFAS chemicals and explain why these chemicals are added. Both the seller and purchaser must retain a copy of this notice for at least three years. Beginning January 1, 2027, the sale of firefighting PPE containing intentionally added PFAS chemicals is prohibited.
