Illinois HB2407 amends the School Code to exclude remote learning days from the calculation of the school term length.

HB2407 modifies the School Code to remove the requirement that remote learning days and blended remote learning days be counted as pupil attendance days for calculating the length of the school term. Instead, these days will not be considered in the computation of the minimum term length. The bill also allows school boards to establish experimental educational programs, including e-learning days, with approval from the State Board of Education. These approved programs will comply with attendance day requirements unless specified otherwise in the School Code.
