HB2400 amends the Illinois Criminal Code to increase penalties for aggravated criminal sexual assault, including adding 5 years to the term of imprisonment for certain offenses. It also raises the minimum sentence for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child to 11 years in prison. For offenders aged 18 and above convicted of a second or subsequent offense of aggravated criminal sexual assault, or those previously convicted of similar offenses, the bill mandates a sentence of natural life imprisonment.
