Illinois HB2386 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to authorize the Secretary of State to issue special Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal license plates. These plates are available to Illinois residents who served in the U.S. Armed Forces after July 1, 1958 and participated in U.S. military operations, U.S. operations in direct support of the United Nations, or U.S. operations of assistance for friendly foreign nations. The Secretary of State has discretion over the design, color, and format of the plates, which can be affixed to passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and certain motor vehicles.
