Illinois HB2353 expands SNAP benefits eligibility to households with veterans or armed forces members.

HB2353 amends the Illinois Public Aid Code to make households with veterans or members of the armed forces categorically eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. This applies if the household's gross income is at or below 200% of the nonfarm income poverty guidelines. Federal approval is required for this change.
