Allows municipalities and fire protection districts to charge fees for nonemergency lift-assist services.
Amends the Fire Protection District Act and the Illinois Municipal Code to allow municipalities and fire protection districts to charge reasonable fees for nonemergency lift-assist services. These fees can be charged to individuals, assisted living facilities, or nursing home facilities. The fees cannot exceed the actual personnel and equipment costs for the services rendered. "Lift-assist service" refers to responses to lift a patient or individual from their current position to a desired position, excluding ambulance transportation to a healthcare facility.
