Illinois HB1865 prohibits insurance sellers from soliciting residents of nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and individuals over 65 unless.

Illinois HB1865 amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act by making it unlawful for sellers of accident insurance or health insurance to solicit individuals who are residents of a nursing home or long-term care facility or individuals who are over the age of 65. The seller must not require a purchasing decision in the first communication, advise the potential enrollee to examine their current insurance plan and discuss changes with a family member or advisor, provide a phone number for questions, and allow the potential enrollee to opt out.
