Illinois HB1735 amends the Election Code to make it a Class 3 felony for non-citizens to knowingly register to vote or vote in any election, including municipal elections. It also makes it a Class 3 felony for any person to knowingly register a non-citizen to vote. The Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
