HB1734, known as the Electoral College Equity Law, amends the Election Code to specify that electors for President and Vice President in Illinois are chosen by congressional district. Each district selects one elector, and two electors at large are chosen statewide. Electors from each district vote for the presidential candidate who received the most votes in their district, while electors at large vote for the statewide winner.
