Foster families caring for pregnant or parenting youth can receive additional payments.

HB1721 amends the Children and Family Services Act to allow foster family homes caring for pregnant or parenting youth to receive additional payments from the Department of Children and Family Services. This applies to foster families caring for a parenting youth and any child of the parenting youth. The Department can prescribe rules for which costs and expenses qualify as "reasonable costs" eligible for payment. The bill takes effect January 1, 2026.
