Introduced·1/24/25
Introduced Text

Waives certain CDL requirements for township or road district employees during snow emergencies.

Illinois HB1718 amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to waive certain commercial driver's license (CDL) requirements for employees of townships or road districts with populations under 10,000. Specifically, it allows these employees to operate vehicles for snow removal without a CDL if the regular operator is unavailable or needs assistance due to a snow emergency. The bill also includes exceptions for drivers of vehicles transporting agricultural products, propane, or responding to pipeline emergencies.
