HB1654

UNEMPLOYMENT INS-SCHOOLS

Introduced·1/23/25
Introduced Text

HB1654 amends the Unemployment Insurance Act to provide aid to school districts and public institutions of higher education.

HB1654 amends the Unemployment Insurance Act by adding provisions for unemployment insurance aid to school districts and public institutions of higher education. It specifies that these entities are eligible for aid subject to appropriation. The aid amount is calculated based on the difference between the net audited unemployment costs for the prior fiscal year and the base period net audited unemployment costs. If the total unemployment insurance aid exceeds the annual appropriation, the aid payment to each entity is proportionately reduced.
