Illinois HB1621 prohibits public and water or sewer utilities from making campaign contributions to candidates for state or municipal offices.

Illinois HB1621 amends the Election Code to prohibit public utilities from making campaign contributions to candidates for state office or political committees supporting such candidates. It also prohibits water or sewer utilities from making contributions to candidates for municipal or state office or political committees supporting such candidates. The bill defines "public utility" and "water or sewer utility" based on existing definitions in the Public Utilities Act.
