Chamber Passed·4/10/25

Illinois HB1600 regulates the use of single-use plastic disposable foodware in restaurants.

Illinois HB1600 amends the Illinois Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act to regulate the use of single-use plastic disposable foodware in restaurants. Full-service and quick-service restaurants must provide single-use plastic disposable foodware only upon customer request and may offer plastic straws if requested. Restaurants must post signs indicating that such items will be available upon request or at self-service stations. Restaurants may use dispensers for condiments instead of prepackaged disposable condiment packets.
