HB1337 amends the Property Tax Code to provide a homestead exemption for persons with disabilities. The bill specifies that a person with a disability is eligible for this exemption if they are liable for paying the real estate taxes on the property and occupy it as their primary residence. The exemption applies if the person with a disability is eligible for federal Social Security disability benefits and their household income does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level.
