HB1325

SOUTH SUBURBAN TRAUMA CENTER

Introduced·1/14/25
Introduced Text

Establishes a South Suburban Trauma Center Fund to finance a trauma center on the border of Calumet City and Dolton.

HB1325 creates a special fund in the State treasury called the South Suburban Trauma Center Fund. The fund will receive revenue from a $1 surcharge on tolls at Plaza 47 from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2035. Twenty percent of the toll surcharge revenue will be deposited into the fund, while the remaining 80% will go to the Authority. The Health Facilities and Services Review Board, in consultation with the Department of Public Health, will designate the location of the trauma center, select the provider, enter into an operational agreement, and determine revenue sources.
