Introduced·1/13/25
Introduced Text

HB1310 amends the Illinois Pension Code to adjust pension increases for firefighters.

HB1310 modifies the Illinois Pension Code to change pension increase calculations for firefighters. It specifies that the monthly pension of a firefighter who retires after attaining age 50 with 20 or more years of creditable service shall not be reduced. The bill also adjusts the annual increase schedule for firefighters, setting it at 3% of the originally granted pension for each year after the pension start date. The changes apply regardless of whether the firefighter was in active service on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act.
