Illinois HB1278 allows victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, gender violence, or other crimes of violence to use employer-provided.

Illinois HB1278 amends the Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act to require employers to allow employees or their family or household members who are victims or alleged victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, gender violence, or any other crime of violence to use employer-provided electronic devices for personal use. This includes documenting or communicating acts of violence. Employers must also provide access to any photographs, voice or video recordings, sound recordings, or other digital documents or communications stored on these devices when needed for criminal proceedings.
