Illinois HB1278 amends the Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act to permit employees or their family or household members who are victims or alleged victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, gender violence, or any other crime of violence to use employer-provided electronic devices for personal use. This includes documenting or communicating acts of violence. If an employee is seriously injured or incapacitated, the employer must grant access to the materials to a family or household member.
